T-Ball, MACHINE PITCH/MODIFIED KID PITCH, MINOR LEAGUE, MAJOR LEAGUE, JUNIORS & SENIORS

 

 

We have been waiting for Spring Baseball and the time is getting close.  The Spring season is almost upon us.  We will field teams in Machine Pitch/Modified Kid Pitch, Minor League, Major League, Juniors & Seniors.  Upper Marlboro provides Little League as well as Cal Ripken Baseball for youth 6–16 yrs. old.  We are excited to get started and looking forward to hosting your family for baseball this Spring season.

Due to COVID-19 we have been unable to offer clinics in recent years.  We are looking forward to offering a baseball clinic before practices begin. Please check the website for updates.

General Information

REGISTRATION CLOSING: Registration will close March 15, 2023.  Children will not be placed on a team until they are registered (Registration paid). 

AGE CRITERIA – 6 – 16 years of age. (Eligibility based on league cutoff dates)

*6 yr. olds will be evaluated to ensure they are ready for this level of baseball.  If they are determine to not be ready, we will recommend they participate in our t-ball program.  Safety is of the utmost concern.
 

PRACTICES – Coaches will determine practice days.  Practice usually occurs, at a minimum, two days per week but this will be at the coach’s discretion.  Practices are planned to begin the end of March.

** Additional cost for uniform is $50. The uniform consists of two (2) jerseys and a hat.   Pants are not included as part of the uniform.   
 

UNIFORMS: Requested uniform sizes will only be guaranteed if you register early.  Uniforms must be ordered in advance of the season to guarantee that we will have them before the first game. Pants will not be provided as part of the uniform this season.  Please purchase grey baseball pants for your player to use during the season and at practices.

GAMES – The season will consist of 10-12 games.  There will be opportunities for some players to also participate in local tournaments during the season.  Although the majority of the games will occur on Saturdays, some games may be scheduled Monday - Friday. Games will be played in the Upper Marlboro area as well as surrounding cities.

TEAM FORMATIONS – Coaches will select players for teams.  The goal is to have evenly skilled teams in that we will have a competitive league and the kids will maximize development through skill building.

SEASON DURATION – The season will begin in April/May and extend through July for ages 6-12**.  The season for older age groups may begin in late May and extend through July/August . Teams participating in Post Season All-Star Tournaments will continue to play as long as the win games and advance to later rounds of play.

**Note: Little League and Cal Ripken tournaments begin in July.  Players participating in the regular season league will be eligible and may be requested to tryout for all-star teams.  Advancing tournament teams may play through the month of August and into September depending on how far they advance (varies by age group).

END OF SEASON (EOS) EVENT – We will have an EOS Event for all participants at the end of the season.  Plans for the event are under development.

VOLUNTEERS – Coaches and other volunteers are always needed.  If interested, please contact the Commissioner with the contact information below.  All volunteers will be required to pass a background check.  Coaches will be required to take additional training.

FUNDRAISER – We will have an organizational fundraiser this season.  The proceeds will help fund the end of season event as well as provide needed financial resources for other organizational costs.
